America’s White Table

For All Who Serve and Have Served

Or Missing Person’s Table. This small table is to show one soldier’s lonely battle against many. The white table cloth represents the soldier’s pure heart when he/she answered the call of duty. The lemon slice represents the soldier’s bitter face while in captivity. The salt is for the tears of a family waiting for their soldier to return. The empty chair represents the missing soldiers who are not here. The black napkin is for the sorrow of captivity. The glass upside down represents the meal the will not be eaten. The lighted bottle is to light all soldiers’ way home. And at last, the red rose tied with a red ribbon represents the hope that all soldiers will one day return home.

To all who currently serve or have served, your service is greatly appreciated.

Fred Helsabeck - a missing soldier

I took the opportunity to add to the table a picture of my Uncle Fred who’s airplane was shot down in WWII. Thank you Uncle Fred for your sacrifice.
